Cookies Policy
Last updated: 11 August 2026
This page lists exactly what we actually use — not a generic list of cookie types that may not apply here. ScriptureCompanion AI does not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or cross-site analytics cookies.
1. Essential Cookies
We use cookies set by Supabase, our authentication provider, to keep you signed in between visits. These are strictly necessary for the app to work — without them, you'd need to sign in again on every page. They are not used for advertising or tracking you across other websites.
2. Local Storage (Not a Cookie, but Similar)
We use your browser's local storage — data saved on your device, not sent to any server — to make the app faster and to remember a few preferences:
- A cached copy of today's devotional, saved verses, and prayer journal entries, so pages you've already visited load instantly instead of waiting on a fresh request every time.
- Which verses you've marked as read while reading a chapter.
- A count of free chat questions used today, for anonymous (not signed-in) visitors.
None of this is sent to us or any third party — it stays on your device, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.
3. Managing Cookies
You can block or delete cookies through your browser's settings. Doing so may sign you out or prevent you from staying signed in, since the authentication cookie is required for that to work.
4. Changes to This Policy
If what we use changes — for example, if we add analytics in the future — we'll update this page to reflect that accurately, and update the date above.
