1. Usage Limits

ScriptureCompanion AI's chat and AI Prayer Writer features have daily usage limits, which apply as follows:

• Anonymous visitors: up to 5 chat questions per day, and a lifetime total of 20 questions before being prompted to create a free account (based on network address)
• Signed-in accounts, first 7 days: up to 5 chat questions and 1 AI-written prayer per day
• Signed-in accounts after the 7-day period, without an active Premium subscription: 1 chat question and 1 AI-written prayer per day
• Active Premium subscribers: up to 20 chat questions and 5 AI-written prayers per day

These limits reset daily. Even for Premium subscribers, usage limits exist as a fair-use measure to prevent automated or abusive use; they are not intended to restrict normal, personal use of the service, and are set well above what a typical user would need in a single day. We may adjust these limits from time to time; where changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify subscribers.

2. Subscriptions & Billing

Premium is a recurring monthly subscription, billed in advance via our payment processor, Stripe. You can cancel anytime from your account page — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain Premium access until then. We do not offer partial refunds for unused time within a billing period, except where required by applicable law.

3. Acceptable Use

This service is provided for personal Bible study and devotional use. Automated, scripted, or bulk use of the chat or prayer-writing features, or attempts to circumvent usage limits, is not permitted and may result in suspension of access.

4. Nature of the Service

ScriptureCompanion AI is a study and devotional tool. It is not a replacement for personal prayer, pastoral guidance, or professional theological, medical, or psychological advice. Scripture text shown in the app is drawn from public-domain translations (World English Bible, King James Version); AI-generated content (explanations, reflections, and written prayers) is clearly a product of the AI and should not be understood as scripture itself.

5. Privacy

Your saved verses, prayer journal entries, and chat conversations are private to your account and are not visible to other users. Feedback you submit on chat answers is visible only to us, for the purpose of improving the service.
