Bible Verses About Joy
Biblical joy is not the same as happiness. Happiness responds to circumstances; joy in Scripture is deeper than that — it can coexist with suffering, persist through difficulty, and comes from a source that circumstances can't reach. Paul writes about it from prison. These verses explain what that means.
"Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared, for today is holy to our Lord. Don’t be grieved, for the joy of Yahweh is your strength.”"
The joy of the Lord is your strength — joy as a resource, not just a feeling.
